Former Safeway Transportation Manager joins the Company

CALGARY, ALBERTA-Aug 18, 2008 - Clean Power Technologies Inc. , developer of a unique heat recovery and hybrid power system to reduce vehicle emissions, is pleased to announce that it has appointed George McLaine as a consultant to the Company.
Mr. McLaine has over 40 years of experience in the transportation business. He started his career as a truck driver in his family's business, moving in 1974 to Canada Safeway Ltd. where he spent the next 33 years. At Safeway he served 18 years as Transportation Manager for southern Alberta, Canada, progressing to Transportation Manager for the entire Alberta division. Whilst there he was in charge of trucking operations in both Calgary and Edmonton and worked as a lobbyist to the Alberta government. During his time at Safeway McLaine was awarded the President's Exceptional Achievement Award on three occasions, recognising employees who make significant contributions to company operations which are above and beyond day-to-day job requirements. He was also a member of the Alberta Motor Transport Association from 1985 to 2007, where he served on various committees, including the Greenhouse Gas Committee and Long Combination Vehicle Committee.

Abdul Mitha, President and CEO of Clean Power, said: "I am delighted to be welcoming George to our team. His many years of expertise in the transport and trucking business combined with his impressive industry relationships will be immensely valuable in moving Clean Power's business ahead and establishing further partnerships - both commercial and regulatory."
As a consultant, McLaine will provide advice to Clean Power and promote its technologies to potential adopters and collaborative partners, such as transport companies, with the aim of generating sales opportunities for the Company's proprietary Clean Energy Storage and Recovery system . This takes otherwise wasted heat from the exhaust of a conventional combustion engine and modifies it through a heat recovery system to generate clean steam power for both motive and auxiliary power. Each CESAR unit can deliver fuel consumption savings of up to 40% accompanied by equivalent emissions reductions.
On his appointment George McLaine said: "When I was first introduced to Clean Power's technology I was immediately impressed by the concept. The beauty of the technology is that it captures free power that is currently vented as heat from the vehicle exhaust into the atmosphere, and using the recovered energy to generate steam power, reducing fuel consumption and vehicle emissions by 40%.
"Clean Power's technology has a very positive future. I was convinced of this after my visit to the Company's R&D facility in Newhaven, UK, where I saw the C-15 Caterpiller engine in operation, producing steam to power an auxiliary steam engine and storing the excess in an accumulator.
"I am proud to be joining such a forward-looking, environmentally conscious company. Clean Power is at the forefront of developing and providing lower-emission and more efficient power systems, initially for transport refrigeration units and trucks and, in the medium term, for broader applications such as automobiles and ships. As emission control takes higher priority on the global government agenda and in the public consciousness, I look forward to promoting Clean Power's unique technology to the transportation industry, helping it reduce fuel expense while benefiting the environment."

ABOUT CLEAN POWER TECHNOLOGIES
Clean Power Technologies is committed to developing hybrid fuel technology and alternative fuel for a range of vehicles, including locomotives, heavy trucks and light cars. The Company's proprietary technology significantly reduces pollution through its Clean Energy Storage and Recovery system, which takes otherwise wasted heat from the exhaust of a conventional combustion engine and modifies it through a heat recovery system to generate clean power for the vehicle.
The Company boasts a highly experienced engineering team, whose vision and technical capabilities are driving the development and implementation of this unique hybrid fuel technology.
Clean Power Technologies operates out of its development facility in Newhaven, East Sussex. In 2006, testing of the CSEAR system began on a Mazda RX8 passenger vehicle engine, with trials on a second identical engine commencing later that year. In June 2007 testing also began on a Caterpillar C15 diesel engine to explore applications, such as auxiliary power and trailer refrigeration, within the industrial vehicle and truck industries. Testing on the CESAR process began in late October 2007, with initial results already recording a 40% improvement in fuel efficiency.
The Company listed on XETRA on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in October 2006, and is also traded on the OTC Bulletin Board in the US.

About CESAR
Clean Power's Clean Energy Storage and Recovery technology is designed to increase vehicle fuel economy and reducing emissions by capturing, storing and reusing otherwise wasted heat from the exhaust of a conventional combustion engine. A heat exchanger captures waste energy, which is then stored in the form of steam in an accumulator, for 'on demand' use either in the same 'primary' engine, or in a secondary vapour engine. Power can be produced solely by the secondary vapour engine even after the primary combustion engine has shut down.
The CESAR system can be used to power auxiliary truck systems, such as trailer refrigeration and cab cooling or heating, in regulatory 'no idle' and 'quiet' zones. In addition to initial truck applications, CESAR can be further applied in Clean Power's well developed passenger car programme in addition to having longer-term potential in the locomotive and marine sectors.
